How do I control my PC from my phone?
Through Telegram remote control. Once your private bot is linked, send /menu for an organized control panel covering locking, camera and evidence, screen and control, device status, and power. Direct commands are also available, such as /lock, /screenshot, /photo and /shutdown 10. See all commands.
Do I need Telegram?
No. Locking works without Telegram, and evidence is kept on your PC in the evidence timeline. Telegram adds alerts on your phone and remote control of your PC.
How long does it take to set up the Telegram bot?
About two minutes, with the setup wizard guiding you: create a bot with @BotFather, paste its token into the wizard so it can verify it, press Start in your bot and confirm it is you. A test message and a full guide with commands and examples follow. Bring the guide back at any time with /guide, or list every command with /help. If you skipped this step during installation, link your bot later from Settings → Alerts → "Link my bot step by step…". Step-by-step guide.
Is my bot private? Can anyone else use it?
Your private bot belongs to you alone, and MoLock responds only to your linked chat. Anyone else who messages the bot cannot do anything. The connection runs directly between your PC and Telegram, and the developer has no access to it.
Does /remote work from anywhere over the internet?
/remote 30 creates a secure, private web link to view and control the screen from a browser on the same network. It stops automatically when the time is up, or earlier with /remote off. It no longer fails if another program is busy on the same connection, because it moves to a free one automatically. From anywhere, the rest of the bot works as usual, including /screenshot, /click and /keys.
Can I control my PC while MoLock is closed?
Yes. Since 2.6, closing MoLock keeps it running quietly in the background by default, so your bot answers as usual and /resume brings the protection back. If you choose to exit completely, a small background bot keeps running (as long as "Background bot after closing" is on), so you can start MoLock, start it and lock the PC, reset your password, check the status or stop the bot itself.
If the PC is offline during an attempt, is the evidence lost?
No. The evidence is kept on the PC and sent automatically as one album as soon as the connection returns.
