How do I unlock? There is no password box.

That is by design. MoLock uses type-anywhere unlock: there is no box and no button. Type your password at any moment on the lock screen and the PC unlocks. A subtle pulse confirms that you are typing without revealing the password length.

I forgot my password. What should I do?

You have several ways back in: the recovery code from setup, an authenticator code (for example from Google Authenticator) if you enabled it, or a trusted USB key or Bluetooth device. From your Telegram bot you can send /resetpassword even while the PC is locked. If none of these is available, MoLock Fix closes the app and returns the PC to normal.

Could I be locked out of my own PC permanently?

MoLock is designed to prevent that. You have a recovery code, an emergency shortcut you configure yourself, /resetpassword from Telegram and the MoLock Fix tool. Your mouse and keyboard never freeze, even if Windows locks on top. After several wrong attempts there is only a short cooldown, never a permanent lockout.

What is a duress password?

A duress password is a second password for situations where you are forced to unlock. When you type it, the PC opens normally, so the other person believes it worked. At the same time, MoLock silently sends an alert and a photo to your Telegram and logs the event.

What is the secret quick unlock, and is it safe?

It is a hidden gesture, known only to you, on a corner of the lock screen that unlocks the PC without typing. You choose and set it up yourself in Settings, and nothing on the lock screen hints that it exists. For peace of mind, every use is always reported to your Telegram, so if anyone ever discovers and uses it, you know immediately. It stays off until you turn it on, and you can change it or turn it off at any time.

Can someone close MoLock from Task Manager?

While the PC is locked, Task Manager itself is blocked. If someone ends MoLock while the PC is unlocked, the guardian restarts it, an optional guard service adds further protection, and MoLock starts with Windows. You can also require your password to exit. When you close MoLock with your password, it does what you chose: by default it stops locking but keeps running quietly in the background so your bot still answers, or it exits completely if you prefer.

What happens if someone tries to close MoLock or end it from Task Manager?

You receive a tamper alert on Telegram with a photo of the person who tried. Tamper alerts fire on a wrong password when someone tries to close MoLock, pause it or open Settings, and when MoLock or its guardian is ended from Task Manager. After 3 wrong attempts the screen locks, and if MoLock was locked when it was ended, it comes back locked. Signing out, updates and crashes never count as tampering. Tamper alerts are on by default and can be changed in /settings.

Task Manager is disabled. Is that normal?

MoLock blocks Task Manager, system keys and the Ctrl+Alt+Del options only while the PC is locked, and always restores them when you unlock. If Task Manager ever remains disabled, run MoLock Fix to repair it.

How is my password stored?

Your password is stored in an irreversible, encrypted form. It is never kept as plain text and never sent to us. All of your settings are strongly encrypted on your own PC and tied to your Windows account.

How do I lock my computer screen automatically when I walk away?

MoLock locks your screen automatically after an idle time you choose (with an optional countdown warning), when your paired Bluetooth phone moves out of range, when you remove your trusted USB key, on a schedule, with a hotkey, or from Telegram with /lock or /timer 5. On a trusted Wi-Fi network such as your home network, you can keep auto-lock off while connected.

How can I see who used my PC while I was away?

Turn on MoLock's evidence features. Every wrong-password attempt is captured with photos and a video clip with sound and sent to your Telegram. Camera motion detection, on by default, sends you a photo in about a second when someone approaches the locked PC, even without touching it, or touches the mouse or keyboard. You can also record evidence on every unlock. Everything is kept in the evidence timeline, alongside the activity log and statistics.

How do I photograph someone who tries to unlock my PC?

With evidence turned on, every wrong password produces a complete evidence report: a photo burst, a short clip with sound, an optional lock-screen screenshot and the location as a map pin, all delivered to your Telegram as one album. The instant camera warms up the moment the screen locks, so the first photo is taken immediately. You can also request a photo at any time with /photo.

Will motion detection send alerts all night because of changing light?

No. Lighting changes, such as a lamp switching on or off or sunlight through a window, do not trigger alerts. Only real movement in front of the camera does. You can set the sensitivity from 1 to 10 and the minimum time between alerts, or turn motion detection off in /settings. With motion detection off, the camera switches off again a few minutes after locking, so the webcam light does not stay on.
